November 2011

November has come and gone.  This month has been stressful because I’ve had many test, projects, and papers to do.  I have studied hard and worked my hardest to overpass these obstacles and I got through it.  This month we had our Thanksgiving break which I spent with my family.  This Thanksgiving was great because of all the good food my mom prepared for us.  After the break, it was rough getting back to school because it was right after a fun break.  The next couple of weeks are going to be even more stressful than any other month because finals are coming up.  My grades are where I want them to be and I’m trying to keep them there by the time finals come.  I hope that I can study hard and pass these finals and finish the semester strong.

October 2011

During this month of October, school has been very stressful. I’ve had many test, projects, and plus football practice everyday. Playing a sport in school can be difficult because it takes up time out of studying. It’s also a good way to keep busy after school and have fun with my fellow players. Thank God there is only one week left of football and I’ll be done. We don’t have the record we wanted in our season, but the only thing that matters is that we had fun. I’m going to miss football practice and the people I was lucky to play with. In school, I have been working hard to keep my grade at a good spot and it is working well. The test and projects have been getting more difficult, but I am doing well studying for them and being prepared. Also, my birthday was in October so that day was a good day overall. Hopefully November can go easier than this past month.

September 2011
The second month of my senior year has been good so far.  I’m still keeping up with all my work and holding my GPA in a good spot as a 3.0.  This year is the easiest year because there is not a lot of work and stress that is put on my shoulders.  I also have lots of family and friends that help me with school work, and help me keep up my GPA.  So far I've had one project already due in my lit class and I got an A as a grade.  I have another project in my religion class with my group that will be fun to do.  I hope I can get a good grade.  In the sport’s world, we still have football practice but it seems to get better every day, especially since the weather is changing. Although our overall record is not what we wanted, we have another chance to start fresh because our league is starting the first Friday of October.  We have been waiting for this all season, and hopefully we can come out with a win.

August 2011
Finally the time has come that I have been waiting for since freshman year, my senior year. For this month of August, it has been hard to change the habits that I had from summer vacation. Since school just started, I have been trying to get into the scholar mode and get out of the vacation mode. School has been pretty easy since it is the first couple weeks of school. So far I like most of my classes and hope to do well in them as the year progresses. I like most of my teachers and the way they teach because it feels like their classes could be easy. On the other hand, over summer I have been playing football at CB and we’ve been having practice ever day of the week. We had our first real game already against Luther Burbank High School last Saturday, but sadly we lost the game. Tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 2, we have an away game against Vanden High. We’ve been practicing hard to beat them. I hope the start of the year will keep me in a good pace to keep doing well in school.

January 2011
During the month of December, our days of school were cut down to a short month because of the upcoming holidays. During the last few days of school, our school work was being more difficult because of finals. The last week of school was finals week and this week was very stressful for everybody. The teachers had given us a lot of worksheets and assignments that could help us do well on the finals. Finals were very difficult because it tests you on what you have learned since the beginning of the semester. After the finals were graded, I noticed that I had passed half of my finals and passed the semester with a 2.86 GPA. We were off for about two weeks for Christmas vacation. Christmas was a good day and I spent it with my family. New years was also great because there were so many activities that were entertaining. Thank God another year has ended well and hopefully this year would be better.

October 2010
It has been about two months since school started. I can say now that junior year has been prodigiously difficult for me so far. We have been getting a great amount of homework for every class. I kind of have been struggling with my GPA this couple of last days. Right now I am holding a 2.71 and I think I can do better. So far, school has been good, but has been stressful because of all the homework that we are receiving. We had a couple of events at school these last couple weeks. First was the QSP drive which was we all had to sell magazines to raise money and for a prize, get a four day weekend. We reached our goal of about $100,000 and get our four day weekend in November! The other huge event was the football's Holy Bowl against Jesuit. Our freshmen team dominated them 37-0, our JV team tied 30-30, and sadly our varsity team lost 15-18.

September 2010
Freshman and sophomore years have come and gone, but junior year is finally here.  It's been a privilege and a gift to be able to start another year at this high school.  So far, my classes have been good, but it's going to become challenging over the next few weeks.  Half of my classes are pretty easy and this year I'm taking a new class that is being taught at CBHS called Watershed Biology.  In the past, I would sometimes procrastinate, leaving things for the last minute, but this year I have overcome that habit and do everything when I'm supposed to do it.  People say that their junior year was the most difficult for them and there's a good amount of school work, but I'm going to try to make this one of my best years in high school.  I hop that this year will fly by and provide me with the best knowledge to become successful.

March 2010
I have been working very hard in all of my classes.  I am studying at "B level" at CB which is the second most difficult level of courses, and I am maintaining a 3.29 G.P.A.  In science we recently built atom models.  My friend Jose and I chose to create an atom of gold which was very challenging considering its high atomic number.  Our teacher was impressed with our efforts and gave us an "A".

January 2010
It's a new year and a new semester!  We are all just a few weeks into returning from Christmas break.  I still feel like I am adjusting.  Last semester, after finals were over, I finished off with good grades and a G.P.A. of 3.48.  This quarter I am taking Driver's Ed for zero period which starts at 7:15 every morning!

October 2009
Christian Brothers has been hard and at times I felt as if I needed to give up. At times I did give up and started to be lazy so my grades went down. The lowest my GPA has been was a 2.4 and I realized that I needed to get my grades up and do better in school. I started to do my work and now I have a 3.4 GPA consisting of all A's and B's. School has been the same as usual lately, except for the big events we have had. We first had Holy Bowl, which is a football game against our long time rivals at Jesuit High School, and we won! The recent event was Homecoming and we had a spirit week to get pumped for it. Sophomore year has been a good experience so far and I hope it will get even better and that the teachers will stop giving a lot of homework!

August 2009
This is my second week as a Sophomore at Christian Brothers High School, and this year is a completely different experience than Freshman year.  The teachers are stricter, and the work is more difficult.  Before school, at break, during lunch, and after school I hang out with my friends, but when it comes to being in the classroom, I have to put my mind on the work with the goal of getting good grades on every assignment.  My favorite class is P.E. because I have the chance to play sports and work out.  My goal for this year is to finish with a strong G.P.A..  I am fortunate to have the chance to study at a college-prep school and prepare for my future.
