December 2011
In the month of December I had my first experience of taking
finals. Since I’d never taken finals
before in high school it was very hard.
I had to study very hard, because I couldn’t let my GPA get lower. My hardest final was my history final because
I was allowed a cheat sheet and I forgot it so everything had to come out from
the back of my head. It was very hard to
remember every single person I’d studied about.
My second hardest final was religion because it was 50 questions long,
and it was the hardest one to study for.
I’m looking forward to my second semester because it is closer to my
sophomore year. I am excited and curious
to see what it will be like not to be a freshman anymore. I plan on having a
high GPA and becoming involved in soccer. Wish me luck and thank you for all of
your support!
November 2011
Ending the month of November and beginning the month of
December I’m getting ready to start studying for my finals. Being a freshman and getting ready to do
finals is very stressful. I had a very
good experience of shadowing 8th graders. Shadowing is a day for 8th graders
to come to Christian Brothers to visit and see our school. One thing I can’t wait for is the Girl’s
Soccer team to start. I am very excited
to try out for the team. One of my
favorite classes is my “C” set because its art and I am really interested in learning
to draw. In the month of November our
school gave us a Thanksgiving break so we had three days off plus the weekend. My thanksgiving break was quiet. Please hope for the best for me during my
first year of finals.
October 2011
In the month of October we
finally had our big dance which was homecoming.
It was very fun to be at a dance with all grades. Also I joined the Hip Hop Club and the Maya Club. In the Hip Hop Club we learn different cool
dances. The faster we learn the steps
the sooner we can perform at the next rally.
Hopefully! In the Maya Club we do
community services and help people. My
favorite classes are art and math. Every
morning I always tell my friend, “Yeah, I can’t wait till math and art class!”
I’m really glad I made it to Christian Brothers High School, because if I
didn’t, I can only imagine that I would be at a public school and I wouldn’t be
getting through how I am right now.
September 2011
Freshman year has been going very well so far. The
Holy Bowl rally was very fun. A rally is when all of the kids from the school get
together in the gym and gets pumped up. There’s a lot of screaming, cheering,
and performances. Then there was the Holy Bowl, the day after the rally, which
was a football game. Yeah! My favorite classes are Art and Math. Now Homecoming is coming up and of course there’s
going to be a rally. Homecoming is on October 22, 2011. It is going to be so fun. One thing that’s
been hard for me since I started high school is getting used to a locker, and
how to open it quick and get to class without being late. One class I need to
work on more is my English class. But, I've been doing well enough not to let my grade
get low. I am proud of my GPA that has stayed high enough for the 3 months I've been in school. My GPA is a 3.0 right now and it will remain as it is or it
will get higher, but one thing for sure my GPA won’t get lower than a 3.0.
August 2011
Being
a freshman in high school is so much fun. The best memory that I won't ever
forget is lock in, which is a night where the freshmen go and stay all night
long without sleeping, and all they do is party. We played games, danced,
jumped on jumpers and played basketball and dodgeball, but the most important
thing about that night was that we met a lot of new people who became our
friends. The first week of high school was so fun hanging out with my friends
and meeting my seven teachers. So far the best week was the second week of high
school. I had a big surprise from my mom
and friends at school because it was my birthday. I got to school and when I
was walking up the stairs to go to my locker, I saw balloons and purple wrapping
paper on my locker. I was so excited the whole day. I will never forget that
birthday; I had the best time with my friends in school. In the second week of
school I had two tests. I really didn't
have a clue how the tests were going to be or what they would look like. I was
so nervous to take them because they were my first tests. One of my exciting
classes is my art class because I thought I didn't know how to draw, but I
actually do know how to draw a little
bit.
