It's been a long cold month! Finals came and went.  I'm finding that as I get older the months go by so much faster now than when I was a freshman. Maybe talking like this is why my friends are calling me an old lady.  In 9 months on the 5th of August I'm going to be 18. It feels weird but it's just another year older. People say age is just a number and now I guess that is so true since I don't feel like I'm going to be an adult any time soon.

Well a lot happened this month. I went to Sac-Anime, an anime convention  which is held at the Radisson Hotel. I saw and heard  Mari Iijima perform. She's a famous JPop icon and a voice actress in some famous anime. It was unbelievable. It was nice to be in a place with people who love anime and manga.  I was able to buy some things and I even got a katana! I was so happy to get some really good deals.  I really enjoyed the convention!

Hi everyone! A new CB school year has started. It's been a pretty crazy time since I got my class order changed and I could barely remember my homeroom's room number. Honestly, junior year already seems stressful and the year has just started.  I just have to work hard to get my homework done on time. No teachers are even letting any slack happen in their classrooms.  I have a lot of friends in all of my classes though so that is a GREAT thing, even with the changes and everything,  its nice to see all of their faces again.

October 2009
Since my last entry, Christian Brothers High School has experienced a miracle. As most people know, our rival school is Jesuit (Boo!). Every year we have this big football showdown called Holy Bowl. Last year, just like the six years prior, we lost, and what's worse, it was by one point. This year, like so many before, we had to deal with Jesuit students coming to MVP saying they would win. I was sick the day of the game, so I was messaging my friends every ten minutes demanding to know the score. Suddenly I was getting no replies. I waited an hour in silence, and then my phone went off with fifteen texts, all saying the same thing: "WE WON! 27-6." For the first time in eight years, we had a proud red and blue victory. Although sick and at a friend's house, I screamed happily. We went nuts. The best part was when the Jesuit tutors had to come back in defeat. Truthfully I won't let them live it down.

First thing in the morning, I start off with my favorite subject - art.  As our first and only homework assignment for the quarter, we have been asked to make a sketch book with ten entries using five different mediums.  After only four weeks, I had the entire project finished.  I haven't stopped drawing, though, and I believe I am getting better and better.  Five of my drawings are in colored pencil, two are in ink, two are pencil sketches, two are drawn with sharpies, and the rest are a mixture of mediums, for a grand total of eighteen. I can complete a fully colored, 9 X 12 inch drawing in two days.  I can relax, knowing that my art assignment is more than complete!

At Christian Brothers High School I am part of the Anime and Magna Club, home for the lovers of Japanese comics and animation.  Our first duty of the year was to elect a president.  The former president (a senior) and I ran for the position.  When we walked into the art room on the day of the election I was pretty nervous.  After collecting the slips of paper used as ballots, we began the count.  The first vote went to my opponent, and I took a deep breath and watched.  When all the votes were counted, I looked at the board and I was surprised to see that the former president had three votes and I had nine!  I had won.  I stood up smiling like crazy, and shook her hand.  Then the guys in the club stood up and shouted, "All hail Madam President!"  I appreciate their humor.  As club president, I have begun planning meetings, making us one of the only clubs on campus that has already started club activities for the school year.assignment for the quarter, we have been asked to make a sketch book with ten entries using five different mediums.
