November 2011
In the month of November I have been working on
a religion research project on Saint Francis of Assisi. I have to write a seven
page paper on him and his life. I wrote a six page essay on the Crucible and I am still waiting on my
grade, but hopefully it is good. I have been stressed out with a lot of
homework and because finals are coming up. I was glad that I had Thanksgiving
break to rest and to shop like crazy with my older sister. Our vacation seemed
too short because I did not want to go back to school. I have also started a
research project in history and I am doing it on teen pregnancy. Wish me luck.
October 2011
In the month of October I’ve had many tests and
had a hard time doing homework. On the good side I’ve had better time management
and went out with friends a few times. I even went trick or treating and passed
out candy with my friends. In History class we are doing research projects and
I am researching teen pregnancy. In Religion class we are doing a group
research project on a saint, and we chose saint Francis of Assisi. I hope that next month will be far easier on
everyone, for the death of a loved one has had a huge burden on us here at MVP.
I hope that everyone will heal, including myself.
September 2011
In the month of September I have gotten back
into the school mode, and I am working hard. I now see that junior year is
the hardest. I like all of my classes. On one of our long lunches we had club day. I had a good time just looking at all the different clubs and encouraging others to sign up with me. At school we had a block party and I
had so much fun talking and dancing with friends. We had a rally for Holy Bowl
and this was the best one so far! Even though we lost Holy Bowl horribly, I
still managed to have a good time with my friends. In choir I got a solo part in
a descant which I am really excited about. We are performing at open house. My friend and I have been practicing like crazy, so that we will not mess up. This is my first solo wish me luck!
August 2011
My August has been very stressful and busy. I
had to finish two books before school started and do a reading report for one
of them. I wish I had not procrastinated on my summer reading because I started
the school year off rushing. Then within the first week of school my teachers
already gave me homework. In choir I had to sing in front of the whole class so
my teacher would be able to place me in my right section. That alone was very
nerve racking. I have been staying up very late to finish all my homework and
complete some hours. I know in the long run it will be very helpful. I still
have good grades even though we have been at school for three weeks. I think a
good start would help me to keep my grades up. My goal for the school year is
to have better time management so I may have more free time to get other
important things done and not feel sleep deprived. Wish me luck!!
January 2011I had a lot of fun this December. We had a really good thanksgiving. We helped with the mvp thanksgiving dinner at maple. They also gave presents to the little kids for Christmas. Ms. Sampson also donated presents for every kid in mvp. Finals were hard but I got good grades. I had a great break. I want this New Year to be a great 2011. I also want to wish you all a merry Christmas and happy new year.
October 2010I recently sang at Open House. We had to learn two songs, one was “Sogan” and it’s in Welsh and the other was “Wade in the Water.” I was very excited to perform but also nervous. Choir is a very fun class. I would recommend anyone to take choir; it’s like learning a whole new language. In Algebra II we are getting ready to take the PSAT. Wish me luck! Freshman year is a lot different from sophomore year, a lot harder and a lot more homework, but I’m doing well with my grades (3.57 GPA) despite the challenge. Both Frank and Laura have recognized how hard I’ve been working and that they are proud of me. In Literature, we just finished the novel “Speak” which is a very good book. Biology is getting harder but I’m doing good. I’m one of my teacher’s favorite students and I’m still his first chair.
September 2010I'm Anastasia Marie and I just started my sophomore year at Christian Brother's High School. During the summer, I took a geometry class in which I got an A. I'm really good in math and I feel smart being in a class with a bunch of juniors.
Math so far is really easy, but I hope it will be more challenging in the future. I really like all my teachers, well so far, and at parent-teacher night, my teacher told my godmother that they like me a lot and that I was a very good student. For me, personally, I was glad to be back to see all my friends that I didn't get a chance to see over vacation. Christian Brothers had a dance for freshmen and sophomores and the theme was "Fiesta". I had so much fun dancing and laughing with all my friends. This year I'm in concert choir and our first performance is for Christian Brothers' Open House. I think this year will be even better than last year!
September 2009In the last two weeks I have gone on a retreat and attended a rally. The retreat was very fun. We played a lot of games and got to know each other. The rally was also very fun. There was lots of dancing, yelling, and lots of different chants. I was very excited to attend both events, and I'm looking forward to more.
August 2009As a Freshman at Christian Brothers High School, I am already having a great experience! On the fourth day of school, I had to sing Amazing grace solo in front of the whole class to be placed in my voice range. Despite how nervous I felt, I ended up singing so good I was placed in Soprano 2 because I can reach the high notes. I am also very excited to attend the first school Freshman/Sophomore dance tomorrow night, with an 80's theme. I am also interested in cross country so that I can participate in a sport. I have had the best two weeks at C.B.!
