Winter break was a very long and relaxing. But now it’s that time again, time to get back to business and staying focused. I found out that I passed my finals except my science final. I studied so long for that test and I still couldn’t pull it off. I passed the first semester with a 2.0 but this semester my grades will improve. Now that I have a fresh start It will be easy to stay on top off things. I look forward to a successful semester.
November 2010
It is now the third month of school for me at Christian Brothers. It feels like each month gets harder and harder. My grades are progressing in the right way--slowly but surely. Not too long ago I signed up for MERK. It is a one-on-one tutor who helps me with my school work every Monday and Wednesday. My tutor is very good in math and helps me a lot. I got a B- on my last math test! My goal is to stay on this path and get through sophomore year successfully.
October 2010
It's the second month for me here at Christian Brothers High School. Now that time has passed, a lot of assignments have piled up and it's getting a lot harder. School is becoming more intense by the day. This week our football practice has been short and easy because we don't have a game this weekend but next week it's going back to normal. I'm going to have practice every day and on top of that there's homework. But I look forward to having a successful sports season and academic year.

It's the beginning of my sophomore year here at CB. Last year I had a very successful year and I'm very confident about this year. Although I have two more classes added to my schedule this year, which is science and foreign language, I still believe I will succeed. This year I'm also on the football team. I have a starting position as a nose guard on defense. Unfortunately, at one of my practices I tore some tendons in my knee and am trying to recover as quickly as possible to get back out there and do what I love best.
March 2010
I just received my third quarter report card and I have a 3.14 G.P.A.! For a long time I had maintained a 3.0, and I'm excited to see my grades improving a bit. Math has always been a difficult subject for me, but surprisingly I actually have an A+ in math, with 110% in the class. It is hard to believe my freshman year is almost finished and I can't wait to see what next year brings. The football coaches really want me to play J.V. football. Although I love the sport, I haven't made a solid decision yet.
September 2009
I have now finished my first month at Christian Brothers. I am on the Freshman football team and this Saturday we play Jesuit High School. They call this event the Holy Bowl and everyone is very excited. The Freshman games usually don't get too much attention; the Varsity games bring in a lot of people. For the past eight years, Jesuit has beaten C.B. I hope this year we will turn it around and win! I can't wait to play!

Hello, my name is Alex Alvarez.
