December 2011
Time here
at CB seems to be going by fast. So much has happened with school. I’ve been
given a greater amount of work. As the last days before winter break started,
my days have been abounded with subjects to study for finals. I studied everyday
and night so I could do my finest on them. I believe I did my best and did very
well. Another splendid thing I love about CB is that right after finals were complete,
break started. To get ready for the holidays the Moral Values Program prepared
to give out gifts to the children in our community. We wrapped and sorted
through numerous amounts of presents for children from newborns to teens. Finally,
the day came and we loaded up all the toys and presents to hand out. When we
gave them to the children they were very thankful and filled with merriment. Later
that day I went to a Christmas party at a church where I volunteer to help
assist catechism for children every Saturday. The party went very well and the
food was delicious. We all sang happy birthday to Jesus and exchanged gifts.
Then I waited for the days to go by until it was finally Christmas! My Christmas
was very wonderful. It was filled with cheer and an atmosphere of joy and
laughter. I got some books for Christmas that I am still at the moment reading
and they are very amusing and fascinating. I am very thankful and can’t wait to
start a new, positive, and astounding year!
November 2011
Well another month has passed and I’m starting to get used
to school here. School has gotten more
difficult but I manage to get my work done and still get good grades. For thanksgiving CB had a can food drive and
whatever class brought in the most cans got a free dress day. Well the seniors ended up winning. But the school still raised a lot of cans for
families in need. I’m part of the
Lasallian group and we’re collecting books for kids this Christmas. I also have to dress up as an elf when we surprise
the children at their school. So I’m looking
forward for Christmas time here at CB, which is just around the corner. We also have finals coming up in two week so I
will be studying a lot and preparing myself for this. But the good thing is we start school at 9am
instead of 8am and each day is a half day. Right after finals are over it’s time
for Christmas break!!
October 2011
It’s the end of October now, and I can’t believe how
much time has passed by already. A lot of great things have happened at CB
already. All of my grades are excellent. I’m in the Lasallian Club and we tutor
the kids at St. Patrick’s SUCCED Academy. I’m also in the Maya Club. We are
selling Pan Dulce this week. Another thing that happened at CB was homecoming!!
It was so much fun. My dress was really sparkly. Before Homecoming, CB had alot
of fun activates. I was not able to
attend the rally, because MVP had a golf tournament and the older kids had to
help out. It was a great success and worth it. I can’t wait for what CB still
has coming my way throughout this school year.
September 2011
I just finished the month of September at Christian Brothers High school as a freshmen. So
much has happened already. I have been trying to keep up with my grades, and
its going great so far. I made a lot more friends, and got to know my teachers
more. One awesome thing about this month was Holy Bowl! It was so much fun and
crazy! My friends and I enjoyed all of the school spirit. Even though we lost
to Jesuit we had so much cheering before and after the game that it was still
worth it. Another awesome thing is that homecoming is this month! I can’t wait for
the rally because the Holy Bowl rally was so much fun! I can’t wait for all of
the fun activates we will be having at school. We are also having a magazine
sale at school and I can get a whole bunch of cool prizes. I already got to
wear jeans to school because I sold enough magazines, and I got candy and more! Overall so far my experiences at Christian brothers are going wonderful, and I
can’t wait for many more memories to be made. I’m so thankful I am fortunate
enough to attend such a great school.
August 2011My name is Adriana and I am now a freshman
attending Christian Brothers High School. I
remember everyday on my way to school in eighth grade passing by Christian Brothers
campus and I always saw the students getting dropped off and all the activity
happening. Then before I knew it was time for me to get dropped off at the
campus and no longer driven by so I could attend my first day of high school!
When I woke up on my first day of school I was so nervous! I thought I was going
to be lost and wouldn't know where to go and forget my locker combination. The
first thing I did was find my locker and try to learn how to open it. I didn’t know how to open it and had to ask my friend
to open it for me. I was so glad that I had friends that also attended
Christian Brothers and I had made some new friends at lock in. I will never
forget lock in because it was one of my first memories of Christian Brothers
and I had so much fun! I especially had fun when it was time to dance. When my
new classmates and I where dancing to the last song someone accidentally kicked
me and I injured my ankle really bad and had to walk around the rest of the
night with an ice pack. However the fun I had that day was really worth it. The
next day I was very tired and eventually my ankle was all better. As time
passed my classes began to assign homework and quizzes and tests, so I had to
work and study. I now have a job and
responsibility at school and that is to do the work and achieve the
expectations that are required at Christian Brothers. I know it will take a lot
of work but in the end I know that I will have received the best education that
not many other people out there in the world can have. I will also have gained
the skills that can get me into a university or college and get a job.
Christian Brothers can help me in life and can open up so many great
paths and opportunities so I can have a great future. I am so thankful to be
able to go to a wonderful school and thank God all the time to be so blessed.
